เปลี่ยน Simple Sentence ให้ Complex Structures ที่หลากหลาย
หนึ่งในเกณฑ์ให้คะแนนของ IELTS Writing ที่สำคัญคือ Grammar ค่ะ ซึ่งใน Band 7 จะระบุชัดเจนเลยว่า " Uses a variety of complex structures" นั่นก็คือการที่ใน Essay มี Complex Structure ที่หลากลาย น้องๆลองดูตัวอย่างประโยค Simple Sentence ต่อไปนี้นะค่ะ
Simple Sentences
1. Global warming is a common topic these days. 2. Global warming causes environmental problems. 3. There are tough challenges associated with global warming. 4. Global warming has very serious consequences.
จากประโยค Simple Sentence เหลานี้ ถ้าเราเปลี่ยนเป็น ประโยค Complex Sentence ตามตัวอย่างต่อไปนี้ คะแนนจะสูงขึ้นในส่วนของ Grammar ค่ะ แต่อย่างไรก็แล้วแต่น้องๆ ก็ต้องเขียน Complex Sentence ให้ถูกต้องด้วยนะคะ

ตอบตรงคำถาม ไม่ใช่เขียนเกี่ยวกับหัวข้อ
อีก 1 เกณฑ์การให้คะแนนที่สำคัญมาก คือ Task Response ซึ่งนั่นก็คือการตอบตรงคำถามไม่พูดนอกเรื่อง หรือพูดในสิ่งที่ไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับหัวข้อ ซึ่งถือว่าเป็นสิ่งสำคัญมาก เพราะถ้าน้องๆตอบผิดประเด็นคะแนนในส่วนนี้ก็ะไม่ดีค่ะ ลองดูตัวอย่าง IELTS Question ใน Task 2 ด้านล่างนี้นะคะ
Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.
จากโจทย์นี้ถ้าน้องๆ ตอบ เกี่ยวกับ Problems and solutions of sea level rises with reference to humans ก็จะถูกต้อง ตรงประเด็นคำถามค่ะ แต่ถ้าน้องๆ ไปตอบเกี่ยวกับ Global Warming หรือ Sea level rises กว้างๆ ถึงจะมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อกับ Topic อยู่บ้าง แต่ก็จะถือว่าเป็นการตอบที่ไม่ตรงประเด็นค่ะ
ต้อง Paraphrase Question ห้าม Copy
ในการตอบคำถาม IELTS Writng น้องๆ ต้องมีการตอบทวนคำถาม เพื่อเป็นการกล่าวเกริ่นถึงหัวข้อนั้น ซึ่งเราจะไม่สามารถ Copy คำถามนั้นได้ แต่เราต้อง Paraphase หรือการเขียนประโยคที่ความหมายเหมือนกับคำถามนั้นโดยที่ไม่ได้มีการ Copy คำถามนั้นนั่นเองค่ะ มาดูตัวอย่างการ Paraphase ประโยคที่ถูกต้องกันนะคะ

จากประโยคด้านบนเราจะสามารถ Paraphase ได้เป็น

เติม Idioms ใน Essay (แต่ต้องใช้ให้ถูกต้องด้วย)
อีกหนึ่งทางลัดในการเพิ่มคะแนนนะค่ะ คือการ เติม IDIOMS หรือ สำนวน ลงไปใน Essay นะคะ จะเป็นการเพิ่มคะแนนในส่วนของ Lexicon Part ซึ่งนั่นก็คือในส่วนของการใช้คำศัพท์นั่นเองค่ะ

"A means to an end"แปลว่า วิธีที่จะบรรลุเป้าหมาย อันนี้ก็จะเป็นหนึ่งใน Idioms ที่เก็บไปใช้ในการเขียนของน้องๆได้เช่นกันนะค่ะ ซึ่งสามารถนำไปใช้ใน Essay IELTS ได้ดังนี้ค่ะ
